Madrid for Showusyourtype
For this poster, whose theme is "Madrid", I have been inspired by "La Movida Madrileña” (The Madrid Move). This name called the alternative or underground culture emerged between 1977-1978 in Madrid. This movement developed around bands of the "New Madrid wave". Madrid first batch punk imitation of what was happening in other cities such as London, New York or Los Angeles in the same period. At that time the magazine called "Madrid Me Mata” (Madrid kills me), created and directed by the designer Oscar Mariné, emerged.
For this poster I have tried to synthesize the concept of "Madrid me mata”. Typefaces are a mix of several fonts symbolizing the underground mix that led to the “Movida Madrileña” pierced by an arrow, creating a visual duality between "Madrid kills me”, “I love Madrid”. A sweet poison.
